Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of canadatest.ca (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
canadatest.ca is a web-based study aid for the Canadian citizenship test. It provides chapter-based study content, flashcards, quizzes, and timed practice tests derived from the official Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship guide published by the Government of Canada. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Canada.
Accounts and your responsibilities
- You must provide accurate information when you register.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Do not share your account credentials.
- The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age. Users under 18 should use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You must be legally capable of entering into a contract to purchase a pass. If you are under the age of majority in your province, you should use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Payments, passes, and refunds
- Passes are one-time purchases that unlock full access to the Service for a fixed period (7 days or 90 days). All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By purchasing a pass you also agree to Stripe's terms.
- Refunds: Refunds are granted at our sole discretion. If you believe you were charged in error or wish to request a refund, contact [email protected].
- Passes do not auto-renew. When a pass expires, access reverts to the free tier until you purchase a new pass.
Content ownership
Study content on the Service is derived from the Discover Canada guide, which is published by the Government of Canada. All original layout, interface, source code, and compiled databases on the Service are owned by the operators of canadatest.ca. Your purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for study purposes. You do not gain ownership of the content or any right to redistribute it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share, sell, or transfer your account to anyone else.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise bulk-download content from the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service beyond what is permitted by law.
- Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or other harmful content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or the accounts of other users.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. canadatest.ca is a study aid only — it is not a guarantee of passing the citizenship test, and we make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of the official guide content we reproduce. To the maximum extent permitted by law, canadatest.ca and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, including for abusive behavior, attempted fraud, or breach of the acceptable use rules above. If we terminate your account for cause, any unused portion of a pass will not be refunded.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia for any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service.
